Prague Symphony Orchestra to mark Republic anniversary with Smetana's My Country

The Prague Symphony Orchestra (FOK) will perform the first of two Concerts for the Republic in the Municipal House in Prague on the eve of Czechoslovakia’s founding anniversary. The second concert will take place on October 28 at the same venue. The Municipal House is the place where Czechoslovak independence was declared in 1918. My Homeland is a cycle of six symphonic poems composed between 1874 and 1879 by the Czech composer Bedřich Smetana. Each poem is a celebration of the country’s beautiful nature, history and legends.
