Cases of Hepatitis A continue to increase

In the past week, doctors in Prague have reported 61 new cases of hepatitis A. Since the beginning of this year, there have been 887 cases in total, including 157 children. The Prague Public Health Authority announced this on the social network X. For comparison, according to data from the National Institute of Public Health, roughly the same number of new cases were recorded in Prague over the past week as during the previous three years combined. The Ministry of Health admitted that due to high demand for vaccination, vaccines may be temporarily and locally in short supply, especially for children. According to ministry spokesperson Ondřej Jakob, emergency vaccine deliveries have already taken place and additional shipments are expected.
