ANO to revive electronic sales registration as key budget tool

The ANO party, which won October’s general elections, has announced plans to reintroduce the electronic sales registration system (EET), a flagship measure from its previous government, abolished under the outgoing cabinet. According to Alena Schillerová, who is slated to become the country’s next finance minister, the EET is set to become a central pillar of ANO’s new economic program, aimed at plugging budget gaps and raising tens of billions of crowns to fulfill campaign promises.

Schillerová told Novinky.cz that the system would take effect in January 2027, and the obligation would again apply to all businesses accepting customer payments.

The Motorists’ party, ANO’s potential coalition partner, has signaled only partial support. It has said it would push for exemptions, especially for small entrepreneurs.
