Prague court opening Dozimetr corruption case
The District Court for Prague 9 has opened hearings on the Dozimetr corruption case more than three years after it exploded on the Czech political scene. According to prosecutors, eight prominent figures were allegedly involved in money laundering, clientelism, and corruption linked to the management of the Prague Public Transport Company (DPP). One of the high placed officials charged is former Prague deputy mayor Petr Hlubuček, a former member of the Mayors and Independents, which has harmed the party’s credibility in the eyes of the public. The number of people charged continues to grow. In September, investigators added two more names to the list: former DPP director Martin Dvořák and former Civic Democrat MP Marek Šnajdr. The police file on the case has close to 300 pages.
