Czechia marks World Cleanup Day with over 5,500 volunteer events

More than 5,500 cleanup events are taking place across Czechia today as part of World Cleanup Day. The campaign is led locally by Ukliďme Česko and brings together schools, companies, municipalities, clubs and individual volunteers.

Czechia consistently ranks among the most active countries in the campaign relative to its population. Ukliďme Česko also organizes a spring cleanup, which this year included over 4,000 events.

World Cleanup Day began in Estonia in 2008 and was added this year to the official UN calendar. Since then, over 91 million people in 221 countries have taken part, removing hundreds of thousands of tons of waste.
