Škoda unveils Epiq: Compact electric SUV coming in 2026
This week, Skoda Auto debuted its Epiq show car — the Czech brand’s SUV crossover slated to be one of the smallest and most affordable electric cars on the market. The Epiq will premiere worldwide in mid-2026, starting at around €25,000 (CZK 612,000).
Skoda compared the upcoming car’s starting price to its gas-powered Kamiq SUV model and said it is striving to make electric cars a viable option for “everyday drivers" and families — who may be looking to join in on Czechia's growing interest in electric vehicles. The five-passenger car boasts a notably spacious boot for its 4.1-metre size and includes practical features like hidden underfloor compartments, wireless phone charging, and advanced driving assistance sensors. The Epiq will also give drivers a 425 kilometer range.
The Epiq will also join three other car models to represent the Volkswagen Group's “Electric Urban Car Family,” an upcoming platform designed for small, affordable electric vehicles in Europe. The family's models will share the MEB+ electric platform, which will offer electric cars advanced automated driving features, higher charging speeds, and lower-cost battery cells, among other improvements.
