Bar Association probing ex-justice minister Blažek over bitcoin donation

The Czech Bar Association is examining whether former justice minister Pavel Blažek violated anti-money laundering laws when his ministry accepted a billion-crown bitcoin donation from a convicted drug dealer, Czech Radio reported on Wednesday. The inquiry could result in disciplinary proceedings against Blažek, who practiced law for many years. The Association argues that while Blažek suspended his legal practice while serving in the cabinet, he was still bound by professional rules. Pavel Blažek resigned from all government and party posts when the scandal broke.
