Helicopter crews from eight European countries practice rescue operations over Prague

A formation of twelve helicopters flew over Prague on Tuesday morning as part of this year's international helicopter crew exercise Galileo SAR Meet 2025, focused on coordinating air rescue operations in difficult terrain. During the exercise, the crews will test their skills in navigation and search against each other. Along the way, they will complete various tasks, the completion of which is scored.

The exercise is being held in Czechia for the first time, and hosts crews from Germany, Norway, Spain, Lithuania, Slovakia, Belgium and Austria. It will last until Friday. The helicopters took off on Tuesday from the 24th Transport Air Force Base in Kbely, which belongs to the Air Force of the Czech Republic.
