FC Baník Ostrava fined a million crowns by UEFA after match with Legia Warszawa

The UEFA Disciplinary Committee has penalised the football club Baník Ostrava for incidents in the opening match of the second qualifying round of the Europa League against Legia Warszawa with a total fine of 43,000 euros (1,056,000 crowns), UEFA announced in a communiqué.

Baník is guilty of using pyrotechnics and also blocking public passages in the stadium. In addition, the Silesian team will have a part of the stands conditionally closed for one cup match, with a two-year trial period. The match with Legia was watched by over 15,000 spectators at the sold-out stadium in Vítkovice.
