International police team arrests Ukrainian in school threats case
A joint police team from Czechia, Slovakia and Ukraine arrested a Ukrainian man in Ukraine as part of an investigation into bomb threats to Czech and Slovak schools last September. Slovak police said that the raids began on Wednesday morning at various locations in Dnipro, with the aim of securing computer and telecommunications equipment.
At the beginning of the last school year, hundreds of schools in the Czech Republic and Slovakia repeatedly received threatening e-mails. The author of the threats claimed that there were bombs in the school buildings. Slovak police said at the time that they were investigating the case as a terrorist attack, for which the perpetrator could face life imprisonment.
