Damage threshold for reporting car accidents to police rises

Starting in July, Czech drivers will be required to call the police to a traffic accident only if the damage to any vehicle involved exceeds CZK 200,000, according to newly amended regulations. This is a change from the current threshold of CZK 100,000. If there are no injuries and no third-party damage (such as to road signs or guardrails), those involved need simply document the incident and file a written report with accompanying photos.
