From Beats for Love to Brutal Assault: Czechia’s summer festival season in full swing

With the arrival of summer, Czechia’s music scene bursts into life with a wide array of festivals catering to every taste - from metal and jazz to punk, pop, and global headliners. Here are a few of the key events not to be missed this summer!

Beats for Love

Ostrava - July 2–5, 2025

Beats for Love is a dance music festival that takes place in the heart of the industrial Lower Vítkovice area. The best global artists and DJs perform on several stages together with performers, dance groups, graphic artists, and artists dedicated to street art, digital art and audio-visual art. If dance and electronic music is your cup of tea, you should not miss this event. This year’s star performers include Armin van Buuren, John Newman, A.M.C. & Koven, Flowdan and others.

Masters of Rock

Vizovice  July 10–13, 2025

A mainstay on the European metal circuit, Masters of Rock is held at the historic R. Jelínek distillery, drawing around 25,000 fans from over 35 countries. Headliners include Hammerfall, Till Lindemann from Rammstein, Powerwolf, Apocalyptica, Floor Jansen and others. Camping is part of the ritual — and regular visitors say it’s “the best part of the festival experience”. If you're craving a well‑organized, hugely fun metal experience with legendary acts and a devoted crowd, this is it.

Bohemia Jazz Fest (tours Czech cities)

July 9–16, 2025

Founded in 2005 by jazz guitarist Rudy Linka, the fest draws nearly 100,000 fans annually, cementing its place among Europe's summer music highlights. It offers eight days of free, open-air concerts touring Prague, Plzeň, Hluboká nad Vltavou, Prachatice, and Brno. The lineup spans traditional jazz, funk, fusion, and experimental genres. Perfect for those seeking world-class music in historic surroundings.

Colours of Ostrava

July 16–19, 2025

Set amid the post-industrial backdrop of Dolní Vítkovice, Colours of Ostrava is the Czech Republic’s most ambitious multi-genre festival. Expect a stellar 2025 lineup including Sting, Iggy Pop, The Chainsmokers, Justice, Shaggy and Snow Patrol. Alongside music, the festival offers theatre, film, art installations, and the prestigious Meltingpot discussion forum.

Let It Roll

Lake Most - July 31 to August 2

One of the world’s largest drum and bass festivals, Let It Roll, attracts fans from around the continent. Dozens of artists are set to perform, with headliners including Camo & Krooked, Hedex, Hybrid Minds, Netsky, Wilkinson, and more.

Brutal Assault

Jaroměř (Josefov Fortress) |  August 6–9, 2025

Held in a centuries-old military fortress, Brutal Assault is a pilgrimage site for extreme metal fans. The popular featival attracts thousands of visitors from at home and abroad. It covers every extreme metal and hardcore subgenre—from symphonic and industrial to grindcore and deathcore. This year’s event features Gojira, Dimmu Borgir, Mastodon, Cult of Luna and others.

Keep in mind that most major festivals now use cashless wristbands for purchases.
