Croatian wildfire near split under control, Czech tourists safe

A wildfire that broke out on Saturday near the southern Croatian city of Split is now under control, according to Czech travel agencies. Tourists who were evacuated have returned to their accommodations, and no hotels were damaged in the blaze, Jan Papež, Vice Chairman of the Association of Czech Travel Agencies and Tour Operators, told the Czech News Agency  Hundreds of residents and tourists, including dozens of Czechs, had been evacuated as a precaution when the fire erupted.
