FM Lipavský: Russian imperialism still main threat to European security

Regardless of when and how peace is achieved in Ukraine, Russian imperialism will remain the main threat to European security, Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský said at the opening of a meeting of economic and scientific diplomats at Prague’s Černín Palace on Monday. Mr. Lipavsky spoke about the energy war that Putin’s regime had launched against the Czech Republic and other European nations, and the surge in cyberattacks targeting critical infrastructure. He pointed to the rise in arson and sabotage across Europe and expressed concern about the disinformation and influence operations designed to polarize European societies and undermine the unity and operational strength of both the European Union and NATO. Mr. Lipavský stressed that national interests cannot be effectively advanced abroad without addressing the question of security.
