Commemorative ceremony for General Heliodor Píka victim of judicial murder
Members of the military, politicians, and the family of General Heliodor Píka gathered in front of the General Staff headquarters in Prague to honor his memory. Saturday marks 76 years since the execution of the Czechoslovak soldier and legionnaire, the first judicial murder victim of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia. Speakers praised Píka’s courage, his sense of justice, and his deep love for his country. Wreaths and flowers were laid at his memorial plaque by representatives of the Senate, the Office of the President, and others.
