Two-thirds of Czechs take bitcoin scandal seriously

Two-thirds of Czechs view the current bitcoin scandal as serious, according to the results of a STEM poll commissioned by commercial Prima TV.  In total, 67 percent of respondents rated the affair as "very" or "rather serious". Twelve percent dismissed it as a minor scandal, while 20 percent were undecided. Opposition party supporters were significantly more critical than those backing the ruling coalition. According to the agency, if the Together coalition grouping fails to convincingly explain the affair, it could lose three to four percentage points in support.

The controversy stems from a controversial donation to the Justice Ministry from a man previously convicted of drug manufacturing, embezzlement, and illegal possession of firearms, leading to the resignation of Justice Minister Pavel Blažek.
