Czech crown jewels to go on display in September
The Czech crown jewels will be on public display from September 18 to 29 in the Vladislav Hall at Prague Castle. Entry will be free. This year’s exhibition will focus on the jewels' fate during World War II, presidential spokesperson Filip Platoš announced Monday.
The ceremonial removal of the jewels from the Crown Chamber at St. Vitus Cathedral will take place on September 15. School groups will get early access over the following two days.
President Petr Pavel introduced the tradition of displaying the crown jewels annually. Last autumn, over 46,000 people visited the exhibition, including schoolchildren, Czech visitors, and tourists from abroad.
