BIS head: No indication that any foreign power was behind bitcoin scandal

There is no indication that a foreign state played a role in the bitcoin scandal that led to the resignation of former justice minister Pavel Blažek, the head of the Czech Counter Intelligence Service (BIS) Michal Koudelka told lawmakers during a session of the Security Committee in the lower chamber. The committee has now asked the government and Justice Minister Eva Decroix to deliver, within two weeks, a detailed account of the donation process and to identify those responsible for accepting a bitcoin donation to the tune of one billion crowns from an ex-convict.

The opposition ANO party has requested an extraordinary session of the lower house at which it wants to table a vote of no-confidence in the Fiala government. The session could take place next Tuesday.
