Globsec Forum 2025 opens in Prague
The role of the United States in European security has changed, and it is now essential to step up efforts to bolster Europe’s defense capabilities and strengthen the Continent’s defense industry, President Petr Pavel said at the opening of the Globsec Forum in Prague. He emphasized the need for Europe to stand united, increase its defense spending and ensure that Ukraine does not fall in its fight against Russian aggression. According to Pavel, the new U.S. administration has shifted the dynamics of transatlantic relations, forcing Europe to confront strategic issues that can no longer be postponed.
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala also addressed the three-day security conference, emphasizing that Europe must boost its strategic resilience and independence, as well as the resilience of its societies.
The Prague edition of the Globsec Forum, one of Europe’s most influential platforms for shaping global security and stability, has attracted some 1,500 policy makers, tech visionaries and business executives to the Czech capital.
