Senate rejects verbal assessment for pupils in grades 1 and 2 in primary school

The Senate has refused to replace the grading of educational outcomes for first- and second-grade students with verbal assessments. It also recommended repealing the proposed ban on repeating first grade included in the amendment, which is primarily intended to limit delays in the start of compulsory schooling. As a result, the amendment will have to be reconsidered by the Chamber of Deputies. It is still unclear when MPs will address it, given the opposition's ongoing discussion of the Bitcoin case in the lower house.
