Acid leak from optics laboratories on university campus in Olomouc

Acid leaked from optics laboratories on the campus of university dormitories of Palacký University in Olomouc, and firefighters are responding to the incident. According to university spokesman Egon Havrlant, the building is now closed.

The spokesman reported that a mixture of three acids, used in the production of large optical surfaces, such as mirrors for astro-observatories, has spilled. The container on the ground floor probably burst over the weekend, and the two dozen people in the building at the time had to leave.
