Pavel Blažek suspends membership in Civic Democratic Party, not to run in elections

Outgoing Justice Minister Pavel Blažek who resigned in connection with the bitcoin scandal that is shaking the government in its foundations has suspended his membership in the Civic Democratic Party and resigned as chairman of the party's South Moravian regional branch. He has also been scratched from the party ticket for the autumn general elections.

Blažek is under fire from all sides after the Justice Ministry accepted a bitcoin donation amounting to one billion crowns from an ex-convict who was found guilty of drug trafficking, embezzlement and illegal possession of weapons.
