Police warn new WhatsApp scam snowballing

Police are warning WhatsApp users about a new scam that appears in the form of a message from a friend warning the user about a cyberattack and urging them to secure their account via a fake link. Following the directions gives scammers access to people’s accounts and is quickly spreading from person to person. The police have warned users not to respond hastily and delete any suspicious messages.
