Interior Ministry to launch info campaign on postal voting for expats

The Interior Ministry is preparing to launch a campaign introducing postal voting for the roughly 600,000 Czechs with long-term residence abroad. The campaign, which is to be launched in June, aims to clarify how the system will work and increase public trusts in it ahead of the autumn general elections. For the first time, Czech living abroad will be able to vote without having to travel in person to the embassy in their country of residence or neighbor state. Several thousand Czech citizens have already registered to vote by post. In order to do so, people must register at their respective embassy –online or via mobile app -no later than 40 calendar days before the elections which are due to be held on October 3-4.
