Prague councilors want to regulate number of Airbnb providers in city

Prague City Hall has called on the lower house of parliament to pass a legislation allowing the city to regulate short-term accommodation of tourists via Airbnb. The appeal seeks to curb the constant rotation of guests in apartments adjacent to those of permanent residents, particularly in the city centre, which is heavily overburdened by tourism. Residents complain about excessive noise, piled-up garbage and late night disturbances from drunk tourists. According to the mayor of Prague 1, Terezie Radoměřská, it is desirable for cities and districts to be able to set their own rules.
