Rosický to remain Sparta's sports director

Tomáš Rosický will remain the sports director of the football club Sparta Prague, as announced for the club's website by vice-chairman of the board František Čupr. There had been speculation about Mr. Rosický's future after the dismissal of Danish coach Lars Friis on May 15th, in response to the club’s fall in the league table and its defeat in the domestic cup final against Olomouc.

The 44-year-old former captain of the Czech Republic national team became the club's sports director at the end of 2018. In the past two seasons, Sparta won the league title and this year advanced to the main stage of the Champions League after nineteen years.
