Zelensky: Ukraine sees Czech assistance against Russian aggression as a joint fight against terrorism

Ukraine sees Czech assistance in the fight against Russian aggression, as a joint fight against terrorism, President Volodymyr Zelensky told reporters in Prague after a meeting with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Marketa Pekarová Adamová. He highlighted the positive impact of several Czech humanitarian projects as well as the Czech ammunition initiative, under which Ukraine could receive 1.8 million more large-calibre ammunition by the end of the year.

For her part, Pekarová Adamová thanked Ukraine for resisting the Russian aggression and for not allowing Russian expansionism to spread further into Europe. She praised the bravery and resilience not only of Ukrainian soldiers, but the entire Ukrainian nation.

On his second day in Prague, Zelensky also held talks with Prime Minister Petr Fiala with whom he discussed further aid to Ukraine, assistance in training Ukrainian pilots, cooperation in mental health projects and Czech participation in the post-war reconstruction of the country. Mr. Fiala said Czechia supported a just peace in Ukraine with strong security guarantees for the country. He added that once peace was achieved Czechia would assist the repatriation of Ukrainian refugees who wish to return home.
