Belgian King Philippe on state visit to Czechia
Belgian King Philippe begins a two-day visit to the Czech Republic on Monday. He will be received with state honours by President Petr Pavel at Prague Castle. According to the Office of the President, the Belgian head of state will be awarded a high Czech state distinction. On Tuesday, the two heads of state will visit the Pilsen Freedom Festival together. In May 1945, the city of Pilsen was liberated by Belgian volunteers fighting for the US Army. It is the first visit to Prague by a Belgian royal in 25 years.
