Convoy of Freedom passes through Prague on its way to Plzeň

A convoy of historic army vehicles passed through the centre of Prague on Friday on its way to western and southern Bohemia to commemorate 80 years since the end of the Second World War. The Convoy of Freedom, consisting of over a dozen vehicles, set off from the Vltava embankment in Prague's Malá Strana and stopped by the American embassy, before heading to the parts of Czechoslovakia liberated by the US army at the end of World War II.

The convoy will be one of the highlights of the Freedom Celebrations in Plzeň which will take place from May 2 to May 6. The organizers expect 150,000 to 200,000 visitors from both at home and abroad.
