Prague Airport handles 3.2 million passengers in first quarter
Václav Havel Airport Prague handled 3.2 million passengers in the first quarter of this year, a 7.5% increase compared to 2023, according to figures published today. In March alone, 1.21 million people used the airport, nearly 4% more than last year.
Flight numbers rose by 8%, with over 10,000 take-offs and landings in March. Cargo also increased sharply — up 38.5% to nearly 6,500 tons.
The busiest destinations were London, Paris, and Amsterdam. More than 195,000 passengers flew to the UK, followed by Italy, Spain, France, the Netherlands, and Germany.
The summer schedule, which began on March 30, includes 165 destinations, including new routes to Toronto and Vilnius — still fewer than the 190 offered before the pandemic.
Last year, the airport handled 16.35 million travellers. This year, it hopes to reach a record 18.4 million.
