Strong thunderstorms to hit eastern Czechia on Thursday

Heavy thunderstorms with torrential rain will hit the eastern half of Czechia on Thursday afternoon and evening. Around 30 millimetres of rain is expected, and in some cases, up to 50 millimetres during repeated thunderstorms.

The last strong storms in Czechia occurred on Monday evening, primarily affecting the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, where over 30 millimetres of rain fell in a short time. Firefighters had to pump out water in several locations.
