Unseasonably warm spell breaks temperature records for five days in succession
The unseasonably warm weekend broke temperature records at monitoring stations around the country. The highest temperature was recorded in Strážnice in the Hodonín region, where it reached 21.3 degrees on Sunday afternoon. Temperature records for March were broken for five days in succession. According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute the warm spell will end mid-week. Meteorologists are expecting occasional rain and snow in the mountain regions, with day temperatures not exceeding 10 degrees Celsius and dropping to freezing point at nights.
