Foreign Minister Lipavský meets families of Hamas hostages in Israel

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský met on Thursday with families of hostages taken by Hamas last October. He expressed concern over their situation and stressed the importance of continued attention to their fate.

During his visit, he also held talks with Israeli officials, including Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Yitzhak Herzog, and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana. He reaffirmed Czech support for Israel and attended the inauguration of NATO’s Contact Point Embassy in Tel Aviv.

Lipavský was the first foreign minister to visit Israel after the October 2023 Hamas attack, which left nearly 1,200 dead and 251 taken hostage.
