President Pavel to be one of few statesmen to speak at AI summit in Paris

Next Monday, President Petr Pavel is set to speak as one of the few statesmen on one of the panels at the artificial intelligence (AI) summit in Paris, the Office of the President of the Republic told journalists on Friday. In France, the president will also meet with leaders of other states and attend a dinner at the Élysée Palace. Czechia is invited to the AI summit for the first time, and representatives of almost one hundred countries will attend the event.

In addition to leading politicians, the conference on Monday should also bring together representatives of companies, civil society, researchers, artists and journalists. Previous meetings of the AI summit, which took place in the UK in 2023 and last year in South Korea, focused primarily on security; this time, the organisers also want to focus on the benefits and the opportunities for healthcare, education and climate issues.
