National Museum to exhibit 3.2 million-year-old fossil of one of the oldest known human ancestors
The National Museum in Prague will exhibit a 3.2 million-year-old fossil of one of the oldest known human ancestors, Australopithecus afarensis, known as Lucy, on loan from the National Museum of Ethiopia. One of the most valuable and oldest paleoanthropological exhibits in the world will be on display for two months starting August 25, 2025. The Ethiopian museum will also lend a 100,000-year-old fossil of a child to Prague for the exhibition. The loan of the exhibits was negotiated by the Czech Ministry of Culture and the Ethiopian Ministry of Tourism.
