Czech-Vietnamese talks in Prague

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is holding talks with top officials in Prague on strengthening bilateral ties and further developing economic cooperation between the two countries. His talks with Prime Minister Petr Fiala focused on broader cooperation in defense and industry which should result in a strategic partnership between the Czech Republic and Vietnam. The Vietnamese prime minister will also be received by President Petr Pavel, meet with the head of the Czech Senate, Miloš Vystrčil, and attend a Czech-Vietnamese business forum underway in Prague.

This year marks 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Czech Republic and Vietnam. A Czech Centre will open in Hanoi later this year, with the aim of further strengthening cultural ties.
