Czech officials express shock and condemnation over terrorist attack in Magdeburg
Czech officials have expressed shock and condemnation over the terrorist attack in Magdeburg, Germany, on Friday night in which a Saudi Arabian national drove his car into a crowd at a Christmas market killing two people and injuring scores of others.
The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack and expressed condolences to the families of the victims. The ministry said it had no information so far as to whether Czech nationals had been killed or injured in the attack.
Interior Minister Vít Rakušan assured the public that there is no imminent danger in the Czech Republic and that an increased number of officers were deployed out in the streets and around potential soft targets.
