Two Prague Metro stations closing for year-long reconstructions
The Českomoravská (Line B) and Pankrác (Line C) metro stations will close on January 6 for about a year due to extensive upgrades, Prague Transport Company (DPP) announced.
Passengers can use Vysočanská for Českomoravská and Pražského povstání for Pankrác, with tram line 19 providing connections. Both stations are set to reopen by late 2024.
The CZK 926 million Českomoravská project includes new escalators, lifts, wiring, and bubble-decorated glass panels by designer Maxim Velčovský. The Pankrác closure is tied to the construction of the new D metro line, with escalator replacements and transfer connections also planned.
