Top Czech officials meet at Prague Castle

The highest officials of the Czech state are meeting at Prague Castle on Thursday morning for the first time since July. President Petr Pavel, Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Markéta Pekarová Adamová, and Speaker of the Senate Miloš Vystrčil were joined by Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský to discuss foreign policy.

In addition to the war in Ukraine, discussions are expected on the current situation in Syria, where the regime of President Bashar Assad, who had been in power for twenty-four years, collapsed on Sunday. The leaders are also likely to debate the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip. They will publically comment on the results of the meeting at 10:15.
