Czech exports expected to hit record CZK 6 trillion in 2024
Czech exports are on track to reach a record CZK 6 trillion this year, a 6% increase from last year’s CZK 5.67 trillion, the Czech News agency has reported, citing the Association of Exporters. Experts attribute much of this growth to the weakening of the koruna against the euro.
During the first three quarters, exports rose 7.2% year-on-year to CZK 4.5 trillion, though in euro terms, the increase was a modest 1.9% to 179.7 billion euros. The country’s foreign trade is expected to close the year with a surplus of CZK 700 billion, significantly higher than the CZK 526 billion surplus in 2023.
The Association of Exporters, however, predicts a decline in export growth in 2025, with sales to key markets such as Germany and Slovakia expected to slow down.
