Czech journalist denied entry and detained in Georgia

Czech journalist Ray Baseley, who regularly covers news from Ukraine and Georgia, was detained by Georgian authorities while attempting to enter the country on Tuesday, without being given an official reason. Foreign Ministry spokesman Daniel Drake told ČTK that the Czech embassy in Tbilisi is looking into the case, and has sent an official request for information about Baseley's whereabouts and the reasons for his detention and denial of entry. Baseley posted on the platform X that neither he nor the border guard knew the reason for the refusal of entry, followed by a comment from his partner Maria Kaplina that she had not heard from him for eight hours.
