Czechia evacuated several citizens from Lebanon in recent weeks
Czechia has evacuated several of its citizens from Lebanon in recent weeks on Ukrainian and Hungarian government planes, Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský told the Czech News Agency on Tuesday.
He also said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains in contact with all Czechs registered in Lebanon through the Drozd travel system, as well as long-term Czech residents in the country. There are currently approximately 200 Czechs in the country. The Ministry has prepared a list of individuals for potential further evacuations and is coordinating with international partners.
Israeli airstrikes against Hezbollah have intensified over the past two weeks, with Lebanese authorities reporting more than 1,000 fatalities, including civilians. On Monday night, Israel launched a ground operation in southern Lebanon aimed at pushing Hezbollah forces farther away from the border.
