President Pavel will dismiss Ivan Bartoš from government posts
President Petr Pavel has said he will comply with the prime minister’s request and dismiss outgoing Pirate Party leader Ivan Bartoš from his government posts. Following talks with the head of state Ivan Bartoš confirmed that the Pirate Party would leave the government on Tuesday and the party’s two remaining ministers – Minister for Legislation Michal Šalomoun and Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský would both submit their resignations to the prime minister.
The leader of the Mayors and Independents, Interior Minister Vit Rakusan told the president that his party would be willing to take over the post of minister for regional development vacated by Ivan Bartoš.
The president is holding separate talks with all party leaders of the ruling coalition to discuss the pending government reshuffle.
