Senate improves amendment that should increase number of foster parents
The Senate on Wednesady approved an amendment to the act on social and legal protection of children that should increase the number of foster parents in Czechia.
The new legislation simplifies the process of assessing those interested in fostering and increases the state contribution for organisations that help foster parents.
The bill, which is linked to the imminent abolition of infant care facilities for children under the age of three, will still need to be signed by the president before coming into law.
