Meteorologists: June 2024 one of the hottest in 200 years
With an average temperature of 21.2 degrees Celsius the month of June was one of the hottest in more than 200 years according to Prague's Klementinum, the oldest monitoring station in the country. Since 1775, there have been only six warmer months of June, only one of which was before 2000, the Czech Hydro-meteorological Institute said on its website. Czechia as a whole also had an exceptionally warm June, with temperatures reaching a national average of 17.9 Celsius.
