Several hundred people protest in Prague against war in Ukraine
Several hundred people gathered on Wenceslas Square in Prague on Saturday afternoon for a demonstration calling for peace in Ukraine. The protesters carried banners demanding withdrawal from NATO or an end to the fighting in Ukraine. Among the participants was former Czech Prime Minister Jiří Paroubek and former Slovak politician Ján Čarnogurský.
One of the people behind the event was Ladislav Vrabel from the group “Czechia first”, who organised a series of anti-government protests in Prague in September and October 2022, attracting tens of thousands of people. Vrabel himself has been accused of spreading false information online and is currently facing insolvency related legal proceedings.
