Sahara sand smog alert removed in most parts of Czechia

A smog alert over much of Czechia caused by sand from the Sahara desert has been ended in most places. It only remained in place in the Ústí nad Labem and Moravian Silesian regions and Brno on Monday afternoon.

The sand, which arrived over the country on Saturday, caused a considerable rise in the concentration of dust particles in the air. Alerts were declared for the whole of Bohemia and many parts of Moravia.
