Government approves over CZK 200 billion spending on jet fighters

The Czech government has approved the earmarking of CZK 215.8 billion for the maintenance and development of the country’s supersonic air force between now and 2030, Novinky.cz reported on Wednesday evening.

The figure includes planned spending on two dozen F-35 fighter jets as well as the cost of leasing the Gripen fighters currently being used by the Czech Army.

The minister of defence, Jana Černochová, has said the amount approved includes all costs relating to infrastructure, fuel and training.
