Russians summon Czech diplomat over freezing of assets in Czechia

On Friday the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the deputy Czech ambassador in Moscow, Jiří Čistecký, to convey the country’s disagreement with the placing of a company administering Russian property in Czechia on the latter’s sanctions list, meaning its assets are frozen. The news was reported by Russia’s TASS agency.

The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that it’s chargé d’affaires had been invited to Russia’s Foreign Ministry but revealed no further details.

The Czech ambassador to Russia is officially Vítězslav Pivoňka, though he has been based in Czechia for several months.
