Czechs mark International Veterans Day

Czechs are marking International Veterans Day on Saturday, which is celebrated internationally on November 11, the anniversary of the end of World War I.

A traditional ceremony took place at the national memorial on Prague’s Vítkov Hill on Saturday morning. The event was attended by Defence Minister Jana Černochová, top military brass and other public figures.

A concert organised by the NGO Post Bellum and Czech Radio in honour of military veterans will take place at Prague’s St. Vitus Cathedral in the evening. Commemorations are also being held in other Bohemian and Moravian cities.
